The Carnival Of Jockey Silks, Horse Racing, And Free Bets

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009
Bayrd Macrae asked:

When the galloping thoroughbreds speed by at 40 miles per hour, you won’t be able to recognize the horses you’ve spent your free bets on, but you’ll be able to make out the bright colored silks of the jockeys. Those silk colors sailing in the wind will tell you if you’ll make or break it.

The Royal Silks

The sea of vibrant silks adds to the pomp and pageantry of horse racing. Without those colors, punters, horse trainers and owners, and judges won’t be able to distinguish the riders and horses, and the race won’t be thrilling at all. For punters, it would be like betting blind with their free bets.

The tradition of using colorful jerseys for horse racing is a throwback to the times of Roman chariot racing when charioteers donned colorful capes to be easily spotted or identified by the spectators. For horse racing, it was later in the 17th century when more horses signed up for the races that the English Jockey Club demanded horse owners and jockeys to submit their colors.

Since that time, the racing silks continued to color the tracks and fly at tantalizing speeds. The English Jockey Club chiefs can track the jockeys and their mounts, and you can easily spot your jockeys on the horses you’ve chanced your free bets and horse racing tips on.

Silks Everywhere

Horse racing enthusiasts who live for the action at the racetracks outside the UK and USA - South Africa, Ireland, Australia, Singapore, and Dubai (just to mention a few) - can tell from a distance which jockey got the better horses, and they can start handicapping the jockeys and horses. They know more information beyond the silks - the jockeys’ weights and track records.

The jockeys, many of them have cut their teeth on the tough horse racing courses, made it to top with record victories. They are easily identified in their orange, purple, red, blue, pink, and color combo shirts and head gear; and they sure look stylish in their colorful get-up.

The jockeys are ranked according to the top 10 in money and are wooed to ride the elite of horses in the fat purse races. For just two to three minutes on the tracks, fortunes rise and fall, and many free bets have made it to the big time, while jockeys made themselves richer by risking their lives and limbs in each race.

Silks, sleek horses, thundering hooves, and free bets - together they make horse racing an exciting spectator sport. That is if you know how to make sense of the different types of bets to make a killing at the races.

The Adrenalin Pumping Races

When the horses are sweating at the starting gates, ready to fly down the track, the smoldering excitement only breaks loose when the horses are released from the gates. The sudden rush of horses, thundering hooves, and the roar of the crowd drown the silent prayers of punters hoping to make their day.

Wagers hang in the balance during the horse race, be it bets to lay, to place, to show, exacta, quiniela, or perfecta. It’s the thought of winning that makes the sports a thrilling favorite. And unless you know what all the bets mean, you’ll never make heads or tails of what makes real money in horse racing.

But for the love and excitement of the game, more people are hurrying to the booking offices and online tipster sites to get tips, free bets, and other horse racing freebies. Indeed, the carnival that is horse racing is here to stay.

36 Inch Carnival Wheel Critical Overview

Monday, November 30th, 2009
Brian Garvin asked:

At county and state fairs there are always games of chance and the barkers are there shouting out to the crowds. Using their booming voice and quick time patter, they deftly raise the anticipation level of those coming closer to the carnival wheel. A few taunts, jeers, promises, and people begin to part with those dollar bills. The money is placed on the bets and the excitement level ratchets upward another few notches.

It is a safe assumption that there will be at least one winner among the gathering throng as the betting public gets into the spirit of the game. The barker knows this crowd and he knows how to wow them. The star attraction is the magnificent “36 Inch Carnival Wheel” which is at the center of it all. With 20 individual spaces and 40 long lasting pegs, this gaming piece is designed to withstand turn after turn of the wheel. The numbers are listed in colorful letters on each space and as the wheel gets moved back and forth, they catch the eye of the crowd.

No one is immune to the clicking of the wheel as it is sent spinning to a new destiny. Each person who has a stake in the outcome edge closer, willing the “36 Inch Carnival Wheel” to land on the number that they have chosen. Each number corresponds to a prize and everyone wants to be the winner. At last, the wheel begins to make those final clicks as it rolls to a stop. There is a hushed anticipation in the air and almost everyone is holding their breath. All eyes are locked on the wheel as it click.. click.. clicks.. to its final stop.

The pegs click over one last time as the pointer shows the winning number. There are muted sounds and sighs of exasperation from the ones who almost won. There is also the yell and cheer from the one person who selected that one winning bet. Almost as one, the throng begins to pull out more dollars for one more bet and one more spin of the wheel. The barker smiles a toothy smile indeed, because his mission is accomplished and the spell has been cast.

You can own this “36 Inch Carnival Wheel” for yourself and use it to spin out some incredible games of chance at a moment’s notice. Use it for business, fun or in the company of friends. You can bring all of the excitement of a Roulette Wheel in Vegas or Atlantic City to your own home now. This “36 inch Carnival Wheel” measures a full yard in diameter and offers fun as big as its size. It has 40 strong and long lasting metal pegs that will withstand as much play as you can give it. The spins are long, hard, and fast and this is one wheel that is going to provide you with no favoritism.. all bets are even at the start and lady luck is needed to help your number hit.

Using the Parallel Bars in Gymnastics

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009
Jimmy Cox asked:

Parallel bars represent the most desirable apparatus for the aspiring gymnasts. It is easier to learn most of the fundamentals that are common to other apparatus on the Parallel bars. It is here that the fundamentals of tumbling are most easily applied to apparatus. Time spent on the Parallel bars is usually rewarding in terms of stunts learned and in terms of progress on other apparatus.

Description of Activities

Stunt (1): Riding Seat Mount

Prerequisites: General conditioning and familiarity with upper arm hang position.

Description: Roll back on the bars until the buttocks are above the bars; then place the hips on one bar and roll up to a sitting position on one bar.

Major Cues: Kick one leg up to facilitate lifting the hips. Roll on the bar to a sitting position.

Teaching Procedures: Assume upper arm hang (bars at armpits, arms along bars, elbows outside); kick one leg up and immediately follow it with the other leg. Roll back until the buttocks are above the bars; then shift the hips over to rest on the left bar.

As this is done, rotate the left hand to the outside of the bar so that it will be out from under the hips. At this point the body should be in a tight pike position. Now lower the feet quickly and, as the feet and legs are lowered, lift the head and sit upon the left bar. Now drop to the mat on the outside of the left bar.

Frequent Errors: Throwing legs over bar; not rolling to the pike position with the hips above the bars.

Safety Precautions: Caution students about landing when they drop off the bar.

Stunt (2): Straddle Mount

Prerequisites: Riding seat mount. General conditioning, and some instruction on kicking one leg to help elevate the hips.

Description: Roll back from the upper arm hang until the hips are above the bars, then spread the legs and roll forward to a straddle position above the bars.

Major Cues: Roll back and roll up; spread the legs wide.

Teaching Procedures: From an upper arm support position, kick one leg up and over the head. Follow it immediately with the other leg. Roll back by pressing down on the bars with the hands. When the hips are above the bars, spread the legs wide and place the finger tips under the hips; then lower the legs and lunge the head forward to roll forward to a sitting position astride both bars.

Frequent Errors: Not rolling back. Not spreading the legs wide. Failing to lunge the head forward to facilitate roll.

Safety Precautions: Warn the performer to fix the shoulders, thus eliminating a sagging support.

Stunt (3): Swing Forward and Dismount (To Left Side)

Prerequisites: Some practice swinging. Also practice dropping from the seat on one bar to the ground.

Description: Swing forward; lift the legs up and over one bar; then drop to the ground on that side. Hold on to the side bar for balance.

Major Cues: Push the bars away; bend the knees on alighting; change the hands on the bars and maintain contact with the apparatus.

Teaching Procedures: While swinging slightly less than the height of the bars, lift the legs by piking slightly; at the forward end of the swing push against the bars to the right and swing the legs over the left bar. As the body passes over the left bar, grasp the left bar with the right hand; release the bar with the left hand. Maintain contact with the right hand on the left bar to aid the balance upon landing.

Frequent Errors: Failing to keep contact with bar. Bending the knees as the feet pass over the bars. (This causes the feet to hit the bars.)

Safety Precautions: The spotter can stand behind the performer and catch under his outside arm. Small boys should try the stunt from the low bars.

Remember practice makes perfect on the parallel bars!

An Unbiased Review Of Rio De Carnival Skill Stop Machine

Thursday, November 19th, 2009
Brian Garvin And Jeff West asked:

Rio De Carnival Skill Stop Machine is one type of poker machine game. To try the game, players must learn all machine related function so that they would be able to win the game quickly. These machines have several features, which is also useful for the players. Simple 110-volt plug is ready for the machine. Players have to put the plug in the right side of the wall. Company authorities have tried to recreate a new look so that the machine completely appears as a showroom specific material. No installation is required for the machine. Players can access and control the entire machine by a single key, located in the machine. Players can also rearrange the whole game by pressing a single key or switch whenever they are jammed in a certain situation. While they are playing, players have to throw maximum of three coins. While they are playing the game with older Rio De Carnival Skill Stop Machine, they just have to do the same process. For the reason that, machines do not take more than three coins.

These slot machines cannot be changed to receive the coins. They accept only token. Moreover, users can get unlimited enjoyment from the animated displays located in the slot machine. The proper sound and light effect make the machines more glamorous. If players think that they can only get fun sitting at the casinos, then they are absolutely wrong. Casino environment can be created in their house and it would be possible if players place the Rio De Carnival Skill Stop Machine in their house. These slot machines are inspired from Japanese slot machines. These almost look like Japanese machines. The functions are also the same. Companies have created the machine cabinet with high quality paints so that the cabinets can work as a safeguard of the machine and protect the machine from any kind of damage.

Rio De Carnival Skill Stop Machine is also very user friendly. Novice players can quickly get used to the machines. If players suffer from several machine related difficulties, then they do not need to worry.

Since, all the machine companies provide their customer full 2-year warranty, if any problem occurs, companies would definitely change the machine parts or the whole Rio De Carnival Skill Stop Machine in a short time. They do not have to pay the repair cost as well. Nevertheless, there is a problem. If players want to change the light bulbs of the machine, they have to give the cost. If the users need added guidance, they can call to the customer care executive of the machine authorities. The number is completely toll free. The can call in free of cost. If they want to e-mail to the company, e-mail ID is available in the company website. Now they have to decide if it suits for them or not.

Asia bigges sports carnival - China games 2010

Sunday, November 8th, 2009
parmod gusain asked:

The XVI Asiad will be held in Guangzhou, China from November 12, 2010 to November 27, 2010. Guangzhou will be the second city in China to host the games after Beijing in 1990. 41 events are scheduled to be contested, making the most events to be ever competed in history of the Asian Games.

Symbol of Asian games

Five sporty goats, dubbed “Le Yangyang,” will serve as the mascots of the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. The five goats, A Xiang, A He, A Ru, A Yi and Le Yangyang, are a play on Guangzhou’s nickname, “City of Goats,”. This is a stylized form of a ram/goat which in Chinese traditions is a blessed animal which can bring good luck to the people. It’s also a representation of the host city – Guangzhou is called the “City of the Rams” or “City of the Five-rams”. The mascot design came from a legend about five immortals who took five goats to Guangzhou, each holding an ear of corn in its mouth. There, the immortals prayed for an end to famine, then flew into the sky as the five goats turned into fossils.

Sports in 2010 games

Officially there are 42 sports, among them 28 are featured in Olympic Games while the rest added as unique to the Asian Games. Cricket, DanceSport, Dragon Boat, and Weiqi will debut in this games, while Bodybuilding dropped because of the judging controversy during 2006 Asian Games.

Cricket a new entry in asian games

The 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China will feature cricket for the first time. The proposal to include cricket was approved at the Olympic Council of Asia’s General Assembly in Kuwait recently. The four Asian Test nations have committed to sending their best available teams, though as all but Bangladesh have home series scheduled at the time the event takes place, the strength of those teams may not be full strength. Cricket has featured in multi-sports events before. The South Pacific games has had cricket as a discipline for a number of years, and will do so again this year, but this is the highest profile such event since the 1998 Commonwealth Games. Generation Y and Extreme Sports

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009
Layne Emerson asked:

Since 1998, the largest increases in sports participation and viewing have come from the realm of what are dubbed extreme sports. The changes come as generation Y, also known as “echo boomers,” are beginning to take center stage in our culture. Generation Y, an impressive group of over 70 million, is perhaps most well known for its contempt for authority and willingness to take risks. Many companies continue to scramble to understand the implications of marketing and employing echo boomers as this generation begins to reach maturity and enter the workforce.

The common underlying theme within all extreme sports are their potential for danger. For the most part, these sports are solitary activities that allow for some amount of escape from reality and supervision - although there are a few team exceptions. Extreme sports are known for the adrenaline rush that they produce, not only in participation but often also in the act of observation. Those who study the trends understand that extreme sports aren’t simply a fad - they are here to stay.

Paintball - While paintball can be taken to the extreme of individual participation in mass extermination rounds, it is often considered one of the exceptions to the “no team” aspect of extreme sports. Considered by many to be at the tame end of the spectrum, paintball involves simulated battlefield play using paint-filled pellet ammunition. The realism alone is enough to produce an adrenaline rush when playing. Individuals in a paintball match are faced with being hunted and dodging rounds while stalking their prey.

Kiteboarding - Kiteboarding, sometimes also called Kitesurfing - involves a modified surfboard with a large parachute-style sail attached. In 2008 a French kitesurfer became the first person to break the 50 knot per hour barrier and became the world record holder for fastest sailing speed. Kiteboarding usually features extreme speeds and/or gravity defying tricks and stunts performed around wakes. Because of the speeds involved, kiteboarders need to be aware of and follow the general laws of boating. Many popular beaches have banned kitesurfing due to safety concerns and high traffic.

Base Jumping - Base jumping, similar to bungee jumping, involves jumping from fixed objects with the use of a parachute or a wingsuit/parachute combination. The term base is actually an acronym that stands for the different types of fixed objects that one can jump from - building, antenna, span, or earth. Base jumping is frequently referred to as one of the more dangerous extreme sports as small errors can result in fatalities.

Extreme Skating - Extreme skating is also sometimes referred to as aggressive inline skating. Much like skateboarding, extreme skating involves the performance of tricks and aerial stunts. The inline skates used are specially developed to enhance the performance of stunts and tricks. Although aggressive skating was removed from the X-games in 2005, it continues to be a popular street sport.

While these are just a few extreme sports that echo boomers have continued to make popular, you can see from this small sample the common thread of chasing the adrenaline rush. While many extreme sports produce this rush through gravity defying tricks and stunts, not all depend upon the free fall rush. Many extreme sports involve the risk of pain, injury, or even death and ironically hearken back to the dangers involve in sports during the ancient times of Greece and Rome.

Dubai Cup is Coming!

Saturday, October 10th, 2009
Julie Smith asked:

The first of 10 meetings of the Dubai Cup already kicked off this week with the opening rounds of the 2008 Dubai International Racing Carnival starting last Thursday with a record number of top rated horses set to compete in the world’s most international and richest festival in racing.

The race which is held annually at the Nad Al Sheba Race course, the 2,000m track is the witness of the Dubai Cup, the biggest day of racing in the global calendar with more than US$6 million at stake and the best thoroughbreds in the world. The first meeting of the carnival will be the Super Thursday fixture on March 6th, the last step before the Dubai World Cup staged on March 29th which is sponsored by HH Sh. Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and UAE Minister of Finance & Industry.

United Arab Emirates has organized the race since 1996; the figures for 2008 are clearly superior to previous years which have proved to be very successful. Actually, from the 263 horses that were accepted, there are 23 individual horses that were successful at Group 1 level in 2007, compared to the 18 of the previous year.

Forty-three group stakes winners are expected to compete at this year’s Carnival and 19 of those are Group 1 winners. International riding stars Frankie Dettori, Mick Kinane, John Murtagh, Ryan Moore, Ted Durcan and Kevin Shea will be on the scene.

It is a fact that the Dubai Cup has become the favorite race for horse trainers and owners but also the most important event on the Emirate’s social calendar. Off the track; the Arabians offer the Carnival Style Stakes and the Super Thursday Style Stakes staged on February 28th and March 6th where the Best Dressed Lady competition is the feature prize during both nights. There are also prizes on the Best Dressed Couple and Best Hat winners.

An International Horse Fair staged on March 20th will be one more of the events to enhance the International Championship and to attract a big amount of consumers from around the world.

Once again, and thanks to its successful trajectory the Championship will be broadcasted live on television, with a great percentage of US viewers which truly enjoy the majesty of all type of thoroughbreds.

parmod gusain asked:

The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, Biggest carnival of the sports, officially known as the Games of the *** Olympiad, are due to be celebrated in England Capital city London from 27 July to 12 August 2012.

Some Terms To Help You Better Understand Freestyle Snowboarding

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009
Gregg Hall asked:

The fans of other similar sports often appreciate freestyle snowboarding too, and that might by why the sport is so popular. It is a sport for people who love the excitement, and the pleasure of speeds and flying through the air.

The following is an alphabetized list of some of the key terms that you might hear if you listen to fans talking about snowboarding, or if you watch an event on television:

Air refers to the length of time, and the distance off the ground. Most times this is associated with the number of stunts that are performed while off the ground.

Bonk refers to when you slide over some object and slap it with your hand. There is usually a little air involved in this. Most likely the name comes from the sound made by the board hitting the bump, or by the slap.

Duck stance refers to the position with both feet on the board at once. This is the regular position of just standing up, but it is a little difficult while in the air, or while sliding down a hill.

Edges are the strips of metal that run along the edges of the board. Snowboarders use this part of the board to change direction, or to apply brake, or to make a pattern in the snow. The edges are what you use to maneuver the board in the desired direction. This is done by shifting one’s weight to the toes or heels.

A fall line is a straight line down the mountain. This is the line where the snowboard would travel fastest, since the force of gravity acts directly and the force of friction is lowest. The concept behind this name is that going straight down the mountain this way feels so fast it’s like free fall.

A garland means that the boarder is going across the slope. They need to build up speed going down, and then shift direction suddenly.

A half pipe is used for stunts. They go from one side to the other, in a funnel shaped area that is specially built for doing fancy stunts.

A kicker is a little jump that helps snowboarders to get as much air as possible, which allows them to perform many tricks in the air. The lip is the edge of a pipe, or some other area where you can take off into the air to begin a stunt.

When a rider turns, he may create a bump called a mogul. When you watch snowboarding events on television, or out in the real world, there are several events. There is the half pipe, where pros compete to see who can do the best stunts while in the air over a pipe. In a jump contest pros speed down the free line of a hill, to gather up as much momentum as possible.

They then hurl themselves off a lip at the end of the line, and into the air. The object is to do as many difficult tricks as possible while in the air. In power snow driving you start at the top of a hill and go straight down to the bottom, making as many fancy turns and tricks and small jumps as you can in between. This is a great favorite among freestyle fans.

Boarder Cross has several boarders who go down a hill together, navigating a series of jumps, twists, and obstacles in a race to the bottom. This is a great and wonderful sport that is worth the time to learn about, even if you just want to watch.

Cheap Skateboard Wheels Take You Around the Town!

Sunday, October 4th, 2009
Shane Dayker asked:

The wheels and deck of a skateboard vary in size depending on the kind of stunts you trail. The quality of the product is important for your performance and helps you display your stunts and tricks with confidence. There are a number of points that you must consider when selecting the right kind of skateboard wheels. Small, hard and cheap skateboard wheels are the right choice for skateboarding on the streets. The smaller wheels of the skateboard help in reducing friction. This results in enhancing the acceleration. Also, these wheels do not tend to wear out very fast. Larger wheels are required for rocky surfaces.

Beginners usually opt for cheap skateboard wheels of medium size since they offer more control when riding compared to smaller boards with smaller wheels; however, nowadays different sizes of wheels are widely accepted in all types of skateboarding due to their variable shapes, which go according to different styles of skateboarding. So depending upon your intention of skateboarding; which is to cruise around, rip down big hills, for tricks or whatsoever, you can choose the shape of the board as well as the size of your cheap skateboard wheels.

Cheap skateboard wheels play an important role in the speed of the skateboard and the performance of daring stunts. The grip of the wheels on the ground should be firm enough for the performers so as to prevent any kind of risk or hazard to the skater’s wellbeing. The wheels are usually made up of polyurethane or tough rubber. The smaller the wheel; the closer is the deck to the ground. The size of cheap skateboard wheels is measured in diameters, while the toughness is measured in durometers.

Cheap skateboard wheels are pretty affordable, so you can definitely buy nice ones for yourself. A set of 4 wheels can cost as low as only $10.00. It is no wonder that cheap skateboard wheels are amongst the favorite kind of wheels for many skateboarders. Skateboard companies like their customers to be completely satisfied with their products, so they ensure that all products and accessories are top of the line quality stuff.
